The Betrayal Podcast
What an honor to be able to share our story with the Betrayal Podcast team.
We are generally private people who decided to share our story because we don't want others to experience betrayal and loss like we have. When Oscar was given to us, we didn't know we should've gotten a contract, or at least a gift affidavit, from the breeder.
We have learned so much about contract law and the legal system since Oscar wasn't returned from a dog show in Colorado as the breeder promised he would be.
The Betrayal Podcast has given us languaging for and a deeper understanding of betrayal trauma. Sharing our story with the Betrayal team has allowed us to process so many emotions. We stand firm in the hope of Oscar's return and look forward to sharing the last chapter of his life with him.
Why aren't you currently active on The Oscar Project facebook page?
In August 2025, the District Court Judge ordered us to stop posting case updates on social media. Here's the languaging used in the journal entry from the August meeting with the judge:
“Plaintiffs agreed not to make any comments on social media pending the trial on the merits and are hereby ordered by the Court to comply with this agreement. The Court did not preclude comments to the media by the parties or
their counsel.”
Please know we wish we could thank each of you for your kind comments, compassionate messages, and offer of help. We wish we could "like" your comments on our socials. We wish we could thank you for your donations and support. However, for the time being, we are unable to do so while we honor the District Court's above order. Thanks for understanding.

How Old Is Oscar Now?
Oscar turned 9 on May 21, 2026.
The average lifespan of a Cane Corso is 9-12 yrs.
How Can We Help?
Pray for Oscar's safety and his return.
Pray for justice to be forthcoming.
Share our story so other animals and their people won't suffer this heartache.
Several of you have asked if you could donate toward our legal fees...years ago our friends started a Go Fund Me for us, never imagining we would still be in the court system seven years later. The link is attached if you feel led to donate.
Happier Times with the Shaucks...
So many happy moments were shared around our dogs...
